Echocardiography

This is a medical imaging technique using ultrasound.

It allows you to visualize all structures (valves and heart chambers) but also to evaluate the tone of the heart muscle. It also studies blood flow through the heart (cardiac Doppler).

It is painless and requires no preparation.

It is performed with the patient lying with their torso bare, a probe is placed on the chest after application of a contact-enhancing gel.

The ultrasound reflected by the different structures of the heart is transcribed into an image that appears on the device screen.
